TERRESTRIAL TRUNKED RADIO (TETRA)

As the pioneer in TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) services in Qatar, CGC has been catering to the TETRA requirements of the industries for about a decade now. After having an in-depth survey and study of the requirements of oil and gas, security, aviation, transportation and other sectors of Qatari economy, we, in association with Qtel, introduced TETRA technology in the country in the year 2003.

While Qatar Telecom, Qtel, takes care of all the service related issues, CGC provides specialised solutions like HW supplies, including base stations, hand-held mobile terminals, intrinsically safe devices and wireless console and recorder as per client’s needs.

Background
CGC implemented a TETRA-based Remote oil Shut-down System using hand-held terminals for Qatar Petroleum in 2005. In the same year, CGC tied up with global giant Rohde & Schwarz and supplied required infrastructures to Qtel to launch nationwide TETRA services. Besides technological support, CGC has also been providing manpower support for big events like the West Asian Games, 2005 and Asian Games, 2006 to Qtel TETRA network.

To spread awareness about the benefits of TETRA technology, CGC organized the 1st ever TETRA Seminar cum Exhibition and CGC Technology Show in the country in January 2006. Keeping pace with modern technology and future trend, we have maintained strong association with international TETRA bodies and actively participate in TETRA World Congress and other leading conferences and seminars.
